The Remington M700 was placed into production in 1962 and enjoys the reputation as one of the toughest and most durable American rifles, ever built. The rifle has been in US Military combat operations since March 1967 when it was first issued to the Marines in Viet Nam. The US Army followed in 1984 with development of the M24 series Sniper rifle which was fielded in 1986 and is still in production. The M700 is the choice of most Law Enforcement agencies as they follow and use what works for the military.

IBA sees no problem with any of the RemingtonM700 triggers given proper installation and a little maintenance as needed over the years. The rifle has been in hard military[and LE] service under rotten conditions for decades using the Walker trigger without ANY problems short of slap worn-out, abused[unauthorized tampering with the adjustments screws which is common], or totally filthy which is the owner/shooters responsibility to remedy. Remington has not ordered a recall and still uses the old style trigger in all LE and military rifles like the M24 series.

Proper rifle maintenance by the owner/shooter is a personal responsibility. It has been a long standing recommendation from our company to have your rifle inspected annually by a school trained/factory authorized gunsmith.
